Selling this beautiful and rare '79 Selmer Mark VI bari, keyed to low A. Even after Selmer switched to exclusive production of the Mark VII line of alto and tenor saxophones in the mid 70s, Selmer continued making a number of Mark VIs - including a handful of baris. This horn is in excellent playing condition with only a few blemishes, mostly around the inside of the bell and lower body (pictures 8 & 9). The neck also has a very slight pulldown. However, lacquer is somewhere around 99% and the horn plays like a dream! It has the bark and sizzle of a modern low A horn with the body, roundness, and even scale of older Selmers.
This makes it a truly versatile horn! Included in the sale are: the original case, vintage Yamaha and Selmer mouthpieces with ligatures and one cap, a box of vintage Rico Royal reeds with around half remaining, a neotech neckstrap, and a sturdy floor stand for the saxophone . Asking price reflects the rarity of the instrument
