WISCO is seeking an experienced Rig Derrickhand or Floorhand to join a workover rig crew offering steady work, overtime opportunities, and room for growth.
Schedule:
• 6 Days On - 1 Day Off (with the potential for more)
• NOT a Rotating Schedule
Job Description:
• Perform services on oil and gas wells as part of a 3-5 person workover rig crew.
• Perform all well servicing tasks from an elevated position (rod basket at 75’ or tubing board at 54’).
• Pick up and lay down tubing or sucker rod strings.
• Assist in loading and off-loading pipe and other items form the truck to rig.
• Drive a crew truck when necessary.
• Lift, remove, install and operate well head pump and jack. Perform other tasks as designated by the rig operator or company official.
• Position, lift, attach, install and work with matting boards, tubing, rods, casing and associated well equipment, such as rod strippers, polish rods, etc.
• Operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other associated rig tools and equipment.
• Report safety hazards, accidents or maintenance issue to the rig supervisor.
• Complete required work plans, job safety analysis, observations, and attends safety meetings as required.
• Play a role in the company’s Behavior Based Safety and proactive reporting program.
• Assist with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig.
• Work the floors or operating the rig the as it becomes necessary.
• Responsible for operating the mud pump equipment, power swivels, pipe wranglers, mixing fluids, assisting the operator and performing equipment upkeep.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred
• Must pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screening
• One year or more of oilfield or workover rig experience strongly preferred
• Experience operating tongs, elevators, rod handling equipment, or similar tools preferred
• Ability to lift 75 to 100 pounds consistently
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods
• Willingness to work long hours, including 12 hour shifts, weekends, and rotational schedules
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, cold, mud, wind, and ice
• Comfortable working at heights up to 75 feet
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision as part of a crew
• Strong commitment to safety and company policies
• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and equipment
• Ability to follow direction and contribute to efficient rig operations
